10 Mirrrrrrion Dollars!!!!

So I've decided to go for 10 million bucks in play money on Full Tilt Poker.  I sit on the bus every day and play Rush Mobile anyway, so I figured that instead of wining a small amount playing NL5 or NL10, I might as well have some serious fun playing the play money tables.  Going sell rate online is like $3.50-$3.75 per million chips.  I'm thinking I could get to 10 million before the winter is over, and I get back on the scooter in spring. That's a sweet 35 bucks, yo, all while sitting on the bus!

I never thought I'd be writing about the play money poker grind, but shit....its an absolute blast playing PLO and winning a 6 way all in preflop.  Its kinda crazy to be honest.  When I started this quest with $1000 on Friday of last week, I was sitting PLO1000, and a guy actually had $115,000 in play money at the table.  He was up 100BI's!!!

Anyway, I've been going at it everyday on the way to and from work playing PLO, and my current balance is roughly $66,000.  Only $9,934,0000 to go!  Wish me luck.

Happy Friggin' New Year

So the harder I try to keep this blog up and going, the more I fail.  I think the main issue is that I work a full time job during the day, and I just don't set aside time outside of that to update the blog.  I spend an hour before work playing, and an hour at lunch playing.  Those 2 hours are precious minutes that I get to do what I'm really passionate about.

Long story short on the rest of 2010....I cashed out around $400, and then dumped about $400 playing NL50 Headsup....like a dumbshit.  I then transferred half of my roll over to Full Tilt to get a change of pace.  I proceeded to lose $200 playing 25PLO Rush, once again like a dumbshit!

All the while, I subscribed to www.dragthebar.com.  What a fantastic site this is with some incredibly competent and successful players representing it.  Big shout out to Eric Larson on there!  I've watched all your vids bra.  But in all seriousness, one thing I never ever thought about when playing all last year that I learned from this site was polarizing my range......I played NL2-NL10 kindof like Blackjack.  If "A" happens, then you should do "B".  I knew the players to stay away from, and I knew the players to really attack, but I never thought about my 3 and 4 bet ranges.  You can pick up 2-4bb an hour by just recognizing the types of players to 3 and 4 bet properly.  I never paid attention to anyone's stats outside of VPIP and PFR, because I never needed to....People at NL2 just give their money away.  But what learning this does is allows me to pick up a few extra bb's per session from the NL2 and NL5 Regs that I wasn't getting before.

Which brings me to the new year, where I have officially started over with my last $200 on Pokerstars.  I've been 24-tabling NL2 and NL5.  All of my new found knowledge has been very profitable as I'm running slightly above my last year's bb/100.  I'm really excited that my new found love for studying the game has made dividends right away.  Enjoy the 2011 giraffffffffe below!

So....what are my goals moving forward......

1.  Hit $1000 by April 1st so that I can use $750 of that to finance Jini and I's trip to Vegas later in April.
2.  Turn the $250 left into $1500 by the end of the year so that I can start 2012 at NL25.
3.  Make a very strong effort to play a minimum of 15 hours a week, 1 hour before work, 1 hour during lunch, and hopefully 5 hours a week during the weekend and other nights.

See you all at the tables!  and Happy New Year!

New Day, New Crazy Style.....

Typically I'm a pretty standard nitty (12/8) FR 2NL-5NL player.  I don't really like playing this tight, but it is very successful way to grind up a bankroll for the higher levels. So I've worked up my bankroll and I've started playing NL10.  From everything I've read, there isn't too much difference between NL5 and NL10, but nonetheless I decided to run an experiment and play significantly more aggressively when I officially made the move up.  I dropped down from 24 tables to 16, and really focused on playing a very TAG style of play, utilizing HEM to take advantage of individual players tendencies as apposed to nit mass tabling and playing by set standards.  My goal was somewhere around 16/13 to upwards of 20/17....

Long story short, I ended up running even looser than I expected and it's been an in insanely successful experiment....check dis shit out!!!

Out of the loop

So I started this blog to keep myself honest and share some of the craziness that happens as I played poker online.  So I have failed.....We're gonna give it another go with a full update soon......Hopefully tomorrow.

Short story.  Kept winning NL2,  I took a shot at NL5, lost some money, came back down to NL2, won a bunch o'cash, cashed out, continued to play, won some more, cashed out again, and am now sitting with a $200 bankroll with the goal of giving NL5 another shot in August.

Long story coming soon!

Coffeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Rule #1:  When getting up in the morning to play poker, make sure you get some coffee in your veins before starting.  I lost several large pots yesterday morning because I didn't drink my coffee before playing.  Overall though I still managed to rebound near the end of the morning session to bring in almost a full buy in in profit.

All in all, since the last post about being hot, I haven't cooled off at all.  This month in 15 sessions, I have only had 2 losing ones, and those two combined only account for half a buyin total.  If I can keep running at like I am at roughly 15bb/100 for the rest of the month, I'll be ready to move up to NL5 in no time.

Hopefully, I can purchase the full version of HEM on the 15th so that I'll be able to post hands for analysis/graphs/etc. so that if there are actually readers out there, we'll be able to discuss strategy.

Anyway, not much more going on....Until next time.
